It's sake and translating with sempai night at my house! He's helped me work out a couple sentences that have been bugging me, so prepare for a flood of translations tonight and tomorrow (actual scale of flood may vary)

I want people to feel the meaning of the words in the solo song I produced with a hidden image of "yin and yang"

"This tour, do you have anything you've listed as the 'theme'?"

We're all over 30 now, so I want to show off our inner passion. Beyond that, our changes. Even as a group or as an individual, I always hope that we'll be changing. I'm thinking I want to show off our changes over the last year and a half, as we get to do a concert every year.

"When you say 'change,' what do you mean exactly?"

In a word... maybe the power of persuasion? Lately, when we've been singing or dancing, for the people who hear us or who watch us, I feel like performances with the power to persuade are really important.

"That makes sense. When it comes to the whole organization of the concert, what sort of ideas did you have?"

I had a lot of ideas, with the opening and the set, and how I wanted to show off this and that. I want to show everyone our power and our passion, with an image in mind of gradually building up our power. In the opening, I thought it would be good if we could say all the things we want to say. The set is similar with the one place where we gather our power, and beyond that, I suggested furniture-y things. What kind of set it's going to be is a secret... (laughs). Beyond that, you really need to see it and get a feel for it, so please do.

"You're showing off your solo songs after quite some time. What sort of performance will you have for yours?"

With my solo song, "Kannou," I have a really strong image of it being performed under the lights, and I thought it would be good if I could perform it and make people feel the yin and yang. Like you can see it but you can't see it. I feel like song and dance, in an abstract sense, are not things that can be hastily or carelessly put on display1. In my song, there's a lot of words I want to say, but I've made it a little blurry, so I think it might be nice if I could make everyone feel it more.

"That seems interesting. How did you conceive of it?"

When I listen to songs on my own, I start to form ideas in my head of kind of how I want to show it off... The song is filled with the power to make you feel the five senses.

"You mean that songs have the power to stir the soul?"

That's right. I've heard from fans who listened to our songs gave the impression that 'they made me happy' and 'they made me feel this way,' and I really feel that songs have the power to move people, so it would be great if we could keep on singing.

"More than the power in the songs, do you think concerts have the power to move people?"

They do. Concerts are, even for us, a precious place where we can feel the fans' reactions and they can feel the power of the songs. Absolutely, it's a place where we can see the fans up-close and a chance to feel their gratitude, so I'm purely happy.

"What do you want to tell people on this tour?"

First, "we're doing this with energy." After that, the current V6 is this kind of V6, maybe? There aren't a lot of groups that have been going for 16 years, and you can only get this kind of feeling from us is the kind of feeling I want to give off. With that, this time, there are songs we're doing for the first time in concert, and it would be good if they left an impression.

"You're putting in new songs?"

We always want to be showing off new things, so we're proactively including new songs. The time before and the time before that, there were a lot of our singles, but this time, we're adding in new songs, so I think this time it'll have a totally different feeling.

"Once more, what kind of place is a concert to you?"

Of course for V6, concerts are our home base, so it's a place we've treasured since our debut. The six of us can feel at home on stage. For this concert, we're actively bringing in new songs, so it would be nice if we could show off our 'transformation.' For example, in the encore, we're really happy when everyone is yelling along. But, while everyone feels that feeling of happiness, within me it all becomes sort of "ordinary," and I don't like that. I obviously need courage to break down the "ordinary" -- it's what we're born to do -- so I think there are still new things left to do.

1. Literally, he's saying "Song and dance are not something that can be carelessly displayed."
