flytotheworldTook my camera with me back to Japan but only got to take pictures around Kyoto (couldn't in Tokyo since I was basically going to cons every day after sightseeing in the morning and they don't let you take cameras into the venue). It was great to revisit a lot of the places I'd been before but didn't get to spend a lot of time exploring.

the cursed tree. people used to use two nails and a straw doll and nail it to the tree to curse their enemies.
these are to help ward off sickness. red used to be associated with disease but then it became associated with warding it off.
